These fundraisers are not only wonderful opportunities to socialize with like-minded people, but are an easy way you can help our non-profit partners important climate work.

When current events threaten to pull us into pools of negativity and pessimism, art can transform our feelings into radical optimism. Join The Resilient Activist for a night of crafting miniature collages that spark joy, radiate courage, and inspire action lead by Briana Anderson and Tracy Ochester. These collages can be stored in your back pocket, given to a friend on a dark day, or left in a coffeeshop to inspire a stranger.  You will be provided with a variety of upcycled paper craft materials to let your imaginations soar. Build community, free your creative spirit, and cultivate resilience with us.

Bridging The Gap’s new signature celebration & benefit highlighting the work we do to build greener, more resilient & more equitable communities. Join us for an inspiring luncheon featuring an acclaimed author as our Keynote Speaker, a silent auction and special moment to honor several of our exceptional volunteers. You will have the chance to connect directly with our team and get to know the programs shaping a greener Kansas City.

Hosted byCultivate KC at Longfellow Farm, 922 E. 30th, Kansas City, MO. JOIN US for a celebration of urban farming and the diversity of the food in the soil and the folks who grow and eat it! Midtown Hoedown is a family friendly, farm-centered folk dance + so much more! This event is perfect for farming and food enthusiasts of ALL ages. The centerpiece of the evening is a gender inclusive folk dance with live old-time string music and called dance steps. The dances are all taught on the spot – no experience is necessary. This year attendees will also enjoy carnival games, a small animal petting zoo, educational demonstrations, a pop-up springtime transplant sale, raffle prizes, and more. There will be mobile food vendors as well as complementary adult and kid beverages. Western wear is highly encouraged – prizes will be awarded for best outfits.

Hosted byThe Resilient Activist at Runge Conservation Nature Center 330 Commerce Drive, Jefferson City, MO. Guided by the Resilient Activist’s Founder, Sami Aaron, The Five Essentials for a Resilient World offer simple concepts to help participants understand, make decisions, and take action in ways that benefit humans, non-humans, and our planet’s ecosystems.  Participants WILL be invited to go out to the deep nature surrounding the building for some parts of the retreat. Through journaling, guided mindfulness practices, and lots of heartfelt conversation, you’ll leave with a deeper sense of how to live from a deeply embodied nature connection. Each participant will create a personal Five Essentials for a Resilient World take-home plan.

Hosted byThe Resilient Activist at Lexington Lake Park Shelter 01, 8850 Sunflower Rd, De Soto, KS 66018. This is a gathering for adults (18+) seeking a grounded peace that is bigger than the global nervous wreck we’re in. Facilitated by Shannon Gorres, MDiv, MA, we will root into the life that is present here and now, and ground into the Bigger Love that nature offers through the persistent force of propagating life. We will meet the woods exactly as they are—with natives, invasives, imperfection, and beauty—and allow them to hold us. We will attune to Kansas’ native cottonwood, learning from how it survives -and thrives- in mud. Know mud, know cottonwood.This is a space to laugh, cry, play, sing, listen, and rest in relationship
