We throw away a lot of stuff, often because it’s cheaper to replace rather than repair it or we just don’t know how to fix it. That’s where Repair Cafés come in! Together with our volunteers, you can have your broken items repaired instead of tossing them.*
We’ll be doing fixes for items such as:
- Bikes
- Clothing/textiles (no alterations, please)
- Computers (Virus/malware removal, file transfers, other basic repairs)
- Electronics
- Jewelry
- Lamps
- Small appliances (e.g., replacing cords on handmixers, toasters, irons, etc.)
*Limit of 1 item per repair category and 3 items total per turn. Stay for additional turns if volunteers are available to help.
We’ll also have a clothing swap where you can bring your clothing to trade with others–spruce up your closet the sustainable way!v
Bicycle Drive
The Johnson County Christmas Bureau will be on site collecting donated bicycles.
