Mindful Meadow Garden Tour

The Resilient Activist is excited to share that our founder, Sami Aaron, will have her garden featured as part of the Deep Roots Habitat Garden Tour. **This is not a separate Resilient Activist registration event. To attend, please register through Deep Roots. Your registration will give you access to Sami’s garden as well as other featured habitat gardens on the tour. **

Deep Roots’ Habitat Garden Tours highlight Kansas City-area residents who understand why what we plant matters. Guests will have the chance to visit multiple native plant gardens, meet gardeners, gather inspiration, and learn practical ways to create more habitat for birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife.

At Sami’s garden, visitors can learn more about The Resilient Activist and hear how native gardening has been part of Sami’s own journey toward resilience, connection, and hope. Her garden reflects the belief that our yards can become more than beautiful spaces — they can become places of restoration, biodiversity, learning, and care.

In her blog, “Why Plant Native? | The Evolution of a Gardener,” Sami shares how her understanding of gardening changed over time. What began as a focus on color, appearance, and traditional landscaping grew into a deeper awareness of the relationships between plants, soil, insects, wildlife, water, and people. Through native gardening, she found a way to support nature while also nurturing her own sense of wonder and purpose.
