About the Event

The Resilient Activist is excited to host our second in-person Climate Cafe. Please join us at the Wassmer Park Shelter in Prairie Village for a night of community and connection.

The Kansas City Climate Café offers a welcoming, supportive space for people who may be experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, grief, anger, or other emotions related to the climate crisis and other global challenges. You are invited to come as you are and share — or simply listen.

Drawing on guidance from the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America, facilitators will gently guide small-group conversations in a way that is nurturing, respectful, and non-judgmental. This is not a lecture or a problem-solving session, but a chance to be heard, witnessed, and supported.

What to Expect

  • Facilitated small-group conversations
  • A confidential, compassionate, and inclusive environment
  • No pressure to speak — listening is always welcome
  • No prior knowledge or activism experience required

Who This Is For

This gathering is for anyone who:

  • Feels emotionally impacted by the climate crisis or global uncertainty
  • Wants a space to process feelings in community
  • Is seeking connection, support, and grounded presence
