Your Time Can Help Shape the Climate Council’s Future

The Climate Council invites people concerned about the climate to serve on its ad-hoc Planning Committee. This short-term committee position will help create our next 5-year Strategic Plan. We seek representation from a wide range of communties and skill sets. Meetings will be held online via zoom.

Background & Purpose

The Climate Council was formed in 2018 to “educate, partner, and advocate for solutions that reverse global warming,” and is now approaching the completion of its initial five-year Strategic Plan (5YP).  Under this plan, the Council has partnered with 50+ organizations throughout the midwest, produced annual Earth Festivals in the KC Metro area (2019-2023) and established multiple educational media streams that provide radio content nationwide, and online & podcast content worldwide.

This ad-hoc Planning Committee is being formed to create the Council’s next 5YP, a foundational document that will inform and direct the growth and success of the Climate Council over the coming years.  In addition to updating existing programs, the Board of Directors envisions the next 5YP laying the foundation for a nationwide Climate Directory and the establishment of Climate Council Chapters throughout the country.

This is a volunteer position.  Your time and expertise will contribute to positive action needed to address the growing climate crisis.  The Climate Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation recognized by the State of Missouri and the IRS as a public charity.
