Fall is the perfect time to learn about tree care, plant a tree, or restore the health of tree environments. Heartland Tree Alliance brings communities together to plant and care for Kansas City’s urban trees.
TreeKeepers
TreeKeepers is a hands-on educational course for anyone looking to increase their knowledge of trees or to become more involved in the community. These courses are great for gardeners, City employees, landscape providers, Master Gardeners, students and retirees. Class graduates will receive a TreeKeepers Handbook and are encouraged to participate in HTA volunteer workdays!

Free Tree Program
Heartland Tree Alliance is currently partnering with Kansas City, MO and Mission, KS to plant FREE trees in your neighborhood. There is no cost to you – except for water! We will provide the tree, mulch, watering bag, and we will even plant the tree for you (total value of $400+)! LEARN MORE
Arborist Pre-Apprentice – KC Tree Corps
Participants in the Arborist Pre-Apprentice program will receive over 320 hours of on the job and classroom training to prepare them for an entry level position in the arboricultural field. Apprentices will receive credentials and certifications within a number of related fields and hands on experience planting, pruning and caring for young trees. Participants will learn about the broad field of arboriculture and the various types of careers that could be pursued after this certification.
