With the time change and the chill settling in, now is your last chance to get involved in 2025 before we hang up our shovels for the season. The days get shorter and the leaves start to fall, we’re racing daylight to wrap up our final projects of the year!
There’s still plenty of good to be done before winter settles in! Whether it’s tree planting, prairie restoration, or helping at a recycling center, there are so many ways to spend a few hours outdoors making a real impact. So grab your favorite cozy sweater, a coffee, invite your friends and family, and join us for before the season fades!

Recent Volunteer Events
We partnered with Port KC and planted 69 trees along the trail at Berkley Riverfront Park on Saturday, October 25! Volunteers from Port KC, HNTB, River Market Garden Club, and all over the KC Metro came to pitch in and make the Riverfront a beautiful place to be! Special thanks to Two Birds One Stone Beer Garden for donating discount certificates to our volunteers for refreshments after the planting. We are so glad to be part of this partnership. Thank you to all involved!
With the help of some amazing volunteers from Kiewit and our community, our Heartland Tree Alliance team planted 45 trees at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery on Halloween day. It was a fun group of volunteers, the trees looked great, and the Lorax even made an appearance! Many thanks to all of our volunteers that helped with the spooky planting, and special thanks to Kiewit for bringing their group together to volunteer!
Please visit our calendar for more upcoming volunteer dates. I hope you’ll take a moment to check out all of our volunteer opportunities and join us!
