KC Can Compost Toasts YOU and Your Impact in 2024

We are deeply gratefulfor your support – whether through donations, volunteering, composting, or spreading the word – all of which have helped us make meaningful strides toward a greener more just and sustainable future.

Your involvement continues to inspire and drive us forward as we tackle the climate challenges posed by food waste, and provide green workforce development for individuals facing barriers to employment.

Thank you for caring about our under-resourced neighbors and our planet. Because of your shared commitment, these milestones are a reality, and together, we’re making a truly lasting difference.

As we prepare for 2025, we ask you to consider a year-end tax-deductible donation to help us continue this important work and expand our impact in the year ahead.

Here’s to a New Year filled with compassion, justice, equity, and action!
As 2024 comes to a close, we are filled with deep gratitude as we reflect on the remarkable impact you’ve helped us achieve this year.

Because of your shared commitment, 1,680,525 pounds of food waste were diverted from the landfill and transformed into nutrient-rich compost, giving life to what would have otherwise gone to waste.

Because of your shared commitment, we prevented the equivalent of 545 metric tons of CO2 — harmful greenhouse gases — from entering the atmosphere, helping protect our planet for generations to come.

Because of your shared commitment, 107 students participated in our Green Core Training program, with 69 completing pre-apprenticeship and 56 earning Department of Labor Certification, empowering them to pursue sustainable careers.

Because of your shared commitment, more than 10,000 pounds of food waste were collected from local events, including Jazoo and KC Irish Fest, strengthening our community’s dedication to sustainability.

Because of your shared commitment, we launched our Community Smart Can program in Kansas City, introducing cutting-edge technology that makes composting easier and more accessible to all residents.
