Members of the public may listen into a presentation hosted by the City of Kansas City’s Environmental Management Commission (EMC) about major federal funding opportunities for local jurisdictions in Missouri (and Kansas), state energy offices, and local and regional non-profit organizations.  These funding opportunities are made available through the federal Inflation Reduction Act and IIJA (aka the bi-partisan infrastructure law).

The EMC will be hosting environmental law attorney Tony Mendoza, leader with the Sierra Club Environmental Law Program, to give a presentation applicable to all jurisdictions, but especially in MO.

The Environmental Management Commission (EMC) meeting is this Wednesday, July 12, 4pm, and the presentation, with Q&A, will start towards the beginning. This information can assist representatives of impacted city offices since local cities and towns can benefit from this historic funding that can lead to climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
