Join Cultivate KC for our last Homegrown Happy Hour of the year on Oct. 20, 2023 from 4-6pm at Westport Commons Farm, 300 E. 39th St., Kansas City, MO 64111. We will bid a fond farewell to our beloved Westport Commons Farm. You’ll be able to help us harvest the last of the veggies out of the field, enjoy the Tamaleon KC food truck and Torn Label Brewing Co. beer while strolling the farm one last time. PLUS, we’re planning some FUN FAMILY ACTIVITIES! his event is free, but please REGISTER so we know how many folks to expect.
We’ll also be honoring all of our volunteers that have helped our organization accomplish some pretty amazing things this year. So whether you helped at an event or out on the farm or both, come toast yourselves for a JOB WELL DONE! We can’t do all the work we do without YOU.
Westport Commons Farm will be relocating after the 2023 season. Sustainable Development Partners Kansas City, the owners of the property, are moving forward with plans to build apartments on the farm site. We are working closely with their team to make sure that the farm is relocated to a comparable site with conditions that will limit the disruption of our services.
We have greatly enjoyed our time on this land and are extremely grateful to everyone who invested time and money in bringing this project to life and sustaining it over its five-year run. Our partnership with the development team of this site is strong, and they will provide assistance to us when the time comes to relocate existing farm assets.
