Today, the Biden-Harris administration released a report recommending a 10-year, locally led campaign to conserve and restore the nation’s lands, waters, and oceans. The report launches the America the Beautiful Campaign and lays out principles for meeting the national goal of conserving 30 percent of America’s lands, waters, and oceans by 2030. In response, Center for American Progress founder John Podesta released the following statement: By conserving and restoring 30 percent of land, water, and oceans by 2030, the Biden-Harris administration is harnessing the power of nature to address the climate crisis and to bring nature’s benefits to all people.
