We throw away a lot of stuff, often because it’s cheaper to replace rather than repair it or we just don’t know how to fix it. That’s where Repair Cafés come in! Together with our volunteers, you can have your broken items repaired instead of tossing them. We saw more than 55 visitors who brought more than 75 broken items for free fixes at our July 18 Repair Café.
We’re grateful to our skilled volunteers for their expertise, our greeters who helped us check people in and out efficiently and the staff of the Waldo branch of the Kansas City Public Library for hosting us. We appreciate the support of the MARC Solid Waste Management District Grant Program that made this event possible.

If you’ve been thinking about helping out, we need you!
Beginners and teen tinkerers welcome–you don’t need to be a seasoned expert, just be willing to Google or watch a YouTube video. We’re also looking for anyone who considers themself a people person to help check visitors in and out and assist with the overall flow of the event and help with our clothing swaps.
