Thursday, April 9th @ 4pm ~ Composting for SYGs & CPGs

Compost in gardening is decomposed organic matter (like food scraps, leaves, manure) transformed by microbes into a nutrient-rich soil amendment, often called “black gold”, that improves soil structure, water retention, aeration, and provides slow-release nutrients for healthier plants and soil life. It acts as a natural fertilizer and conditioner, boosting soil biology, reducing erosion, and helping plants thrive in all soil types. Learn how to create composting methods for schoolyard gardens and community gardens.

Friday, April 17th @ 12pm ~ Tomatoes, Peppers, & Sweet Potatoes

Are you overwhelmed by the number of tomato varieties available?  Are you confused about heirloom tomatoes?  Do your pepper plants not produce as many peppers as you would like?  Are you disappointed when you dig up your sweet potatoes?  Come learn how to select, plant and care for tomatoes, peppers and sweet potatoes.

Thursday, May 7th @ 4pm ~ Planting For Beneficial Insects & Pollinators

Insectary or pollinator gardens are great ways to lure beneficial insects to your yard and garden. Learn about what native wildflowers and common culinary herbs you can use to create a more eco-friendly, bio-diverse garden.

NOTE: We offer video recordings and powerpoint downloads of some workshops on our Virtual Workshop page.
