Wild Edibles of the Blue River

Transform your next hike into a harvest by joining HCA and the Missouri Mycological Society for an introduction to foraging. Our expert will guide you through the essential techniques for safely identifying edible plants and understanding their medicinal properties. Join us July 11, 2026 from 9am-11am at 11477 Blue River Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137.

Beyond just finding food, you will learn the ethics of sustainable harvesting and the specific ways these wild resources can support a healthy lifestyle. This event is designed to build your confidence in navigating the outdoors as a source of both sustenance and wellness.

Please help us stay green by bringing your own full, water bottle!

This is an unpaved but fairly even trail. Younger kids/babies are welcome, but please plan to use a baby carrier or ensure they can walk, as the terrain isn’t stroller-friendly!
