Ways You Can Help Our Climate Non-Profit Partners

Our non-profit Partners occasionally present fundraising events that provide unique opportunities to learn and support climate solutions while meeting other climate-minded people in a fun setting. These fundraisers are not only wonderful opportunities to socialize with like-minded people, but are an easy way you can help our partners important climate work. The Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation recognized by the State of Missouri and the IRS as a public charity. Your tax-deductible donation makes the Council’s free partnership program, this website, the Climate Digest, Climate Directory and many other resources possible. October 13, 2023 5:30-7:30pm – Gathering For the Greener Good

Hosted by KC Can Compost at The Sulgrave Regency 200 W. 49th Street, Kansas City, MO 64112. Enjoy an evening of live music, cocktails, delicious nibbles, and numerous raffle items donated by our Partners for the Greener Good. Your presence will support the timely and innovative work of KC Can Compost. We have two missions: to preserve our planet through the collection and composting of organic waste, and to educate and prepare people transitioning out of difficult circumstances, like incarceration and homelessness, for employment in the green economy..Inaugural environmental impact awards will be presented to Kristin Riott, Executive Director of Bridging the Gap, and Chris Shelar, Diversion Manager of KC Can Compost.

Hosted by Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1014 W 39th St, KCMO. Our evening will include Presentations from musical groups, choirs and others from various faith communities such as Informational faith tables,remembering Ed Chasteen, dessert reception and more. We will be honoring our 2023 awardees: Karta Purkh Khalsa – Steve Jeffers Leadership Service Award; Midwest Center for Holocaust Education – Table of Faiths Award. Interfaith cooperation is key to transforming this religiously diverse society into a more just, kind, and pluralistic nation, and world. Hosted by BikeWalkKC at Screenland Armour Theatre 408 Armour Road North Kansas City, MO 64116. Every Body is invited to the All Bodies on Bikes party! Join BikeWalkKC and our special guest, Marley Blonsky, for a screening of her short film, All Bodies on Bikes, and a talk about building a stronger, more inclusive bicycling community. Proceeds from this event will benefit BikeWalkKC! Your support of this event will help build a more diverse and welcoming community of bike riders in the Kansas City metro through adult education programs (like Confident City Cycling and Maintain Your Ride classes), Women Bike KC initiatives, and more!

Founded by Kelsey Wirth and Vanessa Rule in a Boston living room ten years ago, today our multi-racial, We will come together in living rooms across the country and reflect on all we’ve accomplished in ten years of mothers mobilizing for a livable climate. By joining hands and working together, we’ve proven that community is the antidote to despair. United, we can ensure our children and future generations enjoy just access to a healthy environment.
