With two carbon tax plans gaining traction in Congress are examined in this article. Both plans would put a price on fossil fuel pollution and send revenue back to taxpayers as dividends. This article compares the two plans, one of which is supported by the large oil companies. The possibilities of a rollback of EPA’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases and of curbing lawsuits against energy companies involving climate change are also discussed.
