Seeking Farmland For Sale!

Since 2008, Cultivate KC and Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas have co-managed the New Roots program at Juniper Gardens Training Farm, training 10–12 farm families annually and leasing land to 4–8 graduates. Rising land prices and limited availability have extended graduates’ stays, reducing opportunities for new farmers. A new incubator farm will address this gap by offering vital farmland for training, apprenticeships, and small farm startups, helping participants gain the experience and capital needed to transition to independently owned farmland.

USDA Farm Service Agency’s ILA Program aims to help underserved producers thrive by funding projects that reduce barriers for underserved farmers to access land, capital, and markets. Cultivate KC and our partners were one of 50 projects nationwide selected for this grant. As part of the project, Cultivate KC is seeking farmland to create an additional incubator farm that will support up to 10 farmers runningindependent small farm businesses.
