On the Nov 7th KCMO ballot measure question 2 asks voter permission to sell 5.399 acres because it is “unnecessary”. This is a mature woodlot near NE 32nd Terrace and North Holmes. This site is a significant part of our urban forest. It is a link in a wildlife corridor. It provides summer cooling, stormwater capture, a carbon sink, and biodiversity.
Far from unnecessary, it is an irreplaceable remnant of our natural heritage. If you are a Kansas City Missouri resident, please vote no on Ballot Measure #2.
