Like other urban farmers, Young Family Farm is proud of their farm site and their hard work to grow produce on their land. What makes them unique is their presence in a food desert and area where the median household income is under $30K.
Most of their community residents don’t have easy access to fresh fruits and vegetables, and so much of what Young Family Farm grows is not part of the communities normal diet. They’ve found that the community loves and enjoys trying new produce and watching their veggies come straight out of the ground.
Young Family Farm is deeply passionate about their work to grow food with organic practices and no-till, spin-farming techniques. They consider their work a mission for their community and an important work that we plan to continue for many years to come.
