This project invites nature lovers of all ages and experience levels to explore the wild side of our urban arboretum. On April 11, 2026 from 10:30am-11:30am join the kickoff of the Linda Hall Library Arboretum Spring BioBlitz, a two-week community science event running from April 11 to 25, 2026.
Participants will document wild species only, including insects, birds, mammals, and fungi found on the Library grounds. Whether you’re here for the kickoff day or submitting observations on your lunch break, your contributions help us understand and protect local biodiversity. Please REGISTER for this FREE event.
🌱 What Counts:
– Birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians
– Insects, spiders, and other invertebrates
– Mushrooms, lichens, and mosses
🚫 What Doesn’t Count:
– Cultivated or curated plants (like landscape beds or tree collections)
– Pets or humans
