Kansas City’s 2022 Earth Festival to be Hybrid Event

This year’s Earth Festival (EF22) is going to be a hybrid event, simultaneously online and in-person at Unity Temple on the Plaza. This will allow those that are ready for in-person contact to meet at Unity and those who prefer to remain at home to attend virtually. “Our previous online festivals have been very successful,” says Bob Grove, festival organizer, “with virtual attendance from 48 states and five different countries. We want to begin providing an in-person experience for the KC area again, but we also want to continue to support our worldwide audience and those who prefer a virtual event.”

Featured speakers will be grouped into science, faith and political sessions, with scientists explaining climate change in the morning, faith leaders speaking on climate’s calling in the early afternoon and politicians discussing climate policy in the late afternoon. The festival will close that evening with Heart & Soil, a climate film festival produced by CinemaKC. Other events throughout the day include a climate fair with vendor tables and presentations, an eco artist display at Unity’s Art Gallery, and a tree give-away sponsored by the Temple Buddhist Center and Heartland Tree Alliance.

Unlike previous festivals, EF22 will use a single registration to access all events, both in-person and online. The festival is free with registration.

EF22 will be Saturday, 4/23/2022. For more information and registration, click HERE.
