HCA’s Green Guard Stewardship Program

Interested in learning more about nature and stewardship in Kansas City?Registration for Heartland Conservation Alliance’s FREE, Green Guard Stewardship program is now available!
The Green Guard Stewardship Program actively engages community members in nature, equipping them with practical skills to become environmental stewards. By working to preserve local natural areas, participants foster a strong sense of community and connection to nature, which in turn cultivates neighborhood pride and a commitment to environmental protection.
The Green Guard Stewardship training program for 2025 will include a variety of engaging activities for community members led by local natural resource experts, designed to deepen their understanding of local natural resources and effective management practices.
The program includes four Saturday workshops (tentatively scheduled below) within the Blue River watershed that cover various topics while providing hands-on training as well as optional volunteer workdays. For more information on the FREE program, please visit our program webpage

May 24th: Kayaking (9am-12pm)
June 14th: Aquatic Sampling (9am -12pm)
