Forest Bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, is the practice of slowing down and mindfully connecting with the natural world through the senses. Unlike hiking, the focus is not on distance or exercise, but on being present and noticing the sights, sounds, textures, and other elements of the environment around you.
This two-hour experience will offer time for quiet reflection, sensory awareness, and connection with nature. Participants will be guided through the Forest Bathing process by Hugh Klesch-Sawyer, Certified Forest Therapy Guide and owner of Stillpaths. The experience will include guided invitations, reflection opportunities, and a Gratitude Tea Ceremony to close our time together. No previous experience with Forest Bathing or meditation is needed.
Participants will walk on a portion of the Carl Chinnery trail that includes both paved and gravel surfaces. Total walking distance (with multiple stops) is just over a mile.
