A U.S. federal district court judge temporarily blocked oil and gas drilling on 300,000 acres of federal leases in Wyoming. The ruling found that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) “did not sufficiently consider climate change” when auctioning off the land. The March 19 ruling stopped short of banning fracking and drilling on the leased land. Rather the judge ordered BLM to redo its assessment of the impact of the leases.
