Cultivate KC’s volunteer opportunities will likely look a little different during the 2024 growing season. Our primary site for hosting volunteers, Westport Commons Farm (WCF), is relocating as the property owners move forward with plans to build apartments on the site. We are currently working hard to relocate the farm to another suitable Midtown location. In the meantime, we are introducing our new Mobile Volunteer Program or MVP!
About The Mobile Volunteer Program
The Mobile Volunteer Program will rotate weekly between eight different farms and community gardens, mostly in the Midtown Kansas City area. Groups and individuals are encouraged to join our WCF Site Manager at these farms. They will get their hands in the soil and helping grow food while getting to know some of the many amazing urban farmers growing in Kansas City.
As part of our new Mobile Volunteer Program, this growing season, we’ll be partnering with nearby urban farms for volunteer opportunities. Join us for a planting day at Global One Urban Farming at 4409 Cypress Ave, KCMO to help get seedlings into the ground.
Please dress for the weather, wear sunscreen and closed-toe shoes, and bring a water bottle.
