Congress Is on the Verge of Passing Legislation Strong Enough To Confront the Climate Crisis—Budget Reconciliation Is the Key to Stopping Climate Change

The United States is suffering acutely from the chaotic changes in climate that scientists now directly attribute to the burning of fossil fuels and other human activity. However, this week, the Senate initiated an extraordinary legislative response that would set the world on a different path. At long last, Congress is on the verge of major legislation that would build a more equitable, just, and inclusive clean energy economy. This is the country’s shot to stop climate change.
