Because the U.S. has the world’s strongest weather extremes the severe weather events this spring fit within this pattern, according to experts. Global warming is said to have no clear connection to severe thunderstorms and to the tornadoes they produce. But, a 2016 report from the National Academy of Sciences found there were clear links between climate change and heat waves, droughts, heavy rain and snowstorms.
