A U.S. government climate change advisory group, scrapped by President Trump, has reassembled independently, issued a report that calls for better adaptation to the floods, wildfires, and other threats that increasingly loom over American communities. Finding that the U.S. lacks a comprehensive national climate information system, the Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment heavily focuses on broader coordination and communication about climate strategies, and emphasizes the inclusion of local governments that lack the capacity to adapt to climate change.
