The Prioritize & Align phase of the development of the KCMO Climate Protection & Resiliency Plan focuses on reviewing and prioritizing strategies in each of the identified Climate Action Areas. Community members can contribute their voices on which strategies are most important in each part of Kansas City: North, Central, and South, and how the align climate action can be aligned with the work being done by neighborhood organizations, businesses, and residents to accelerate momentum. The six Climate Action Areas are listed below.
Join a topic work group to inform and support the development of the Kansas City Climate Protection and Resiliency Plan. The topic groups will meet for 90-minute meetings in mid-December. The topic groups are:
1. Energy Supply: Providing clean and affordable energy
2. Natural Systems: Using nature to cool our city, prevent flood damage, and clean our air and water
3. Food: Growing and sharing local and nutritious food
4. Homes & Buildings: Creating healthy indoor spaces for living, working, and enjoying
5. Mobility: Moving around the city
6. Waste & Materials: Reducing our impact and reusing our resources
