October is shaping up to be an exciting month at Bridging The Gap! As we head into a season filled with environmental projects and community impact opportunities, we invite volunteers of all experience levels to join us in making a difference. With a variety of upcoming events and service projects throughout the month, there are plenty of ways to get involved, connect with others, and support a cleaner, greener community.
Plant Trees with Us!
Get ready to dig in and make a difference! Bridging The Gap has a busy October and November ahead, and is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us for tree plantings and other events! Spend a few hours outdoors, meet new people, get your hands a little dirty, and leave knowing you’ve made a lasting impact. No experience is needed, just a willingness to have fun and help plant the seeds for a better future. Grab your friends, family, or coworkers and come grow with us, one tree at a time!

Restore Our Prairie!
Help save our remaining prairie areas by collecting native plant seeds with our KC WildLands seed team or by removing invasive species that take over the space native plants need to thrive. Shifts are only two hours long, and the prairie landscapes are beautiful and peaceful. Bring your family, scout group, church group, or coworkers for a relaxing outdoor experience that will teach you about the native and invasive species in our area and how to identify them.

Help on our Auction Committee!
We are bringing back our silent auction for our annual event and need volunteers to join our Auction Committee! Volunteers will help secure auction items by emailing, calling, or making in-person requests for donated items, gift certificates, and other contributions to help make our auction spectacular. Other committee responsibilities may include picking up donated items, researching and pricing auction packages, and assisting with event setup on the day of the auction. We would love to have you on our team!
