Scraps KC – Everything here at Scraps needs sorted, packaged, and priced! Use our volunteer instruction sheets to get materials like paper clips and paint brushes ready to go out into the Teacher Resource Center or the Creative Reuse Center store.

Heartland Conservation Alliance – Invasive Species Removal. Note: This work can be physically demanding. Volunteers should be comfortable carrying moderate weight, repeatedly moving between squatting and standing, and working outdoors for several hours.

GO GREEN! Environmental Fair – Help exhibitors remove booth items from car to venue, and loading back into the car at the end of the event. Runners and lead support.
- Location: Powell Community Center, 6200 Martway, Mission, KS

- Times: Shift 1: 7:00 am – 9:30 am; Shift 2: 9:30 am – Noon

Platte Land Trust – Invasive plant removal; Wildlife habitat improvement. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Tasks are conducted in uneven terrain. Equipment, supplies, and training are provided. Bring work gloves and a water bottle. Bonus: fall bird and monarch migration will be in progress.

Bridging the Gap – Join Heartland Tree Alliance to plant trees throughout Kansas City! Trees slow traffic speeds, filter air and water pollutants, and provide shade to cool the rising temperatures in summer. Over time, trees help slow climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.

Re.Use.Full Repair Cafe and Clothing Swap – Are you a fixer? Help people repair instead of replace their broken items! Bikes, clothing, computer, electronics, jewelry, lamp, small appliance repair. We also need clothing swap attendants.
- Location: Kansas City Public Library – Lucile H. Bluford Branch, 3050 Prospect Ave, Kansas City, MO

- Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

City of Overland Park Recycling Extravaganza – Recycling and donation, drop-off event. Limited sit-down roles, most roles involve traffic control (internal event directions for visitors driving through), and loading and unloading electronics from visitors.
