How to Take Climate Action this Week

Two opportunities for Missourians to advocate for their environment and their pocketbooks.

Missourians, Tell Spire: “No Renewables, No Increase.”
Spire, Missouri’s primary supplier of methane gas energy, has requested a 15.5% rate increase to continue it’s 100% fossil fuel powered operations. The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold public hearings on the increase June 2-5, 2025.
MCE opposes this rate increase for a fossil fuel that traps 82.5 times more heat in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide. Join us at one of the following hearings next week or provide a written comment mentioning File No. GR-2025-0107

Dear Council Member ________,
I am writing to voice my enthusiastic support of Bill 95, which provides the necessary funds to create a St. Louis County Climate Action Plan. As global temperatures rise, disasters like the recent EF3 tornado that recently devastated the city will become more frequent and more destructive. We must be prepared, and preparation requires planning. A robust Climate Action Plan stands to save lives and money in our county.
Thank you,________
