Missouri Coalition for the Environment ReCap of 2023 Legislative Session

This session, we monitored 186 bills, sharing our highest priority bills – 105 of them – on our MO Leg bill tracker webpage. MCE had its lobby day on March 8th and participated in advocating for Missourians and their environment. We submitted written testimony 61 times and testified in person for our specialty crop and innovative solutions to food access. This work was possible with the help of MCE’s policy team! MCE showed up to encourage our legislature to do all it can to protect Missouri’s water, air, land, and democracy. We kept a close eye on issues related to food access, agriculture, energy, waste, mining, public lands, government accountability/local control, elections, & petition initiatives.

Take a look on MCE’s website for more information and read our factsheets relevant to MCE’s high-priority issues at the bottom of MCE’s 2023 bill tracker website. Read MCE’s intern Sumbal Haseeb’s blog as he recaps MCE supported bills. Which ones resulted in wins, losses and how you can become actively involved.
