DESCRIPTION:Climate Action KC’s engagement committee will share the latest on the Climate Action Plan &amp; Playbook which are full of actionable steps communities and organizations in the Kansas City metro area can take, to become more resilient using climate policies and strategies already available. Six key areas, identified by Project Drawdown, are the focus of the playbook: Buildings &amp; Cities, Electricity Generation, Food, Land Use, Materials and Transportation.\nSpeakers:  Julie Sayers and Whitney Wilson\nJulie and Whitney are Engagement Committee Co-chairs for Climate Action KC. Both are passionate about local climate resiliency efforts and were recently elected to local leadership in 2019.\nJulie is City Council Member for the City of Lenexa, Ward 4. Julie also runs senior project management for Encompas bringing LEED and other sustainable design expertise to large commercial projects.\nWhitney is WaterOne Board Member for Johnson County Kansas.
