We remove barriers for people to grow food. We do this through different programs: Giving Grove (community orchards), Community Partner Gardens (community veggie gardens), School Yard Gardens (school gardens), Rent-A-Plot, Beanstalk Children's Garden, and Individual Family Gardens. We provide free educational workshops, low cost plants and seeds, and space to have a garden if you don't have a good space at your home. The community gardens and orchards provide free food for the community. This makes a huge impact on CEJEST neighborhoods. By growing food here in the Metro, reduces the carbon foot print. The orchards and gardens also make an impact on heat islands throughout the city.
